Stop Being You
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used by stopbeingyou.co.uk, why they are used, and how you can control them.

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to site owners. “Similar technologies” includes web storage technologies such as local storage and session storage, which store data directly in your browser rather than as a cookie file. This website uses both cookies (for analytics, only with your permission) and local/session storage (for essential functionality and to remember your cookie choice).
These technologies are required for the website to function or to operate securely. They are always enabled and are not dependent on your cookie choice.

First/third-party: First-party
WhatsApp waitlist dismissal

This website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site, so we can improve it. Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited and uses Google’s Google Analytics 4 service. Google Analytics is not activated until you give consent. Until you accept, the Google Analytics tag is not loaded, no measurement data or cookieless pings are sent to Google, and no analytics cookies are set. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept analytics cookies through the consent banner or in Cookie settings.
When you accept analytics, the following Google Analytics cookies may be set on your device:
_ga
Provider: Google Ireland Limited (third-party, set on this site’s domain)
Purpose: Distinguishes unique visitors by assigning a randomly generated client ID.
Duration: 2 years
First/third-party: First-party on this domain (the value is used by Google Analytics)
_ga_<container-id>
Provider: Google Ireland Limited
Purpose: Maintains session state for the Google Analytics 4 measurement (e.g. session count, session start time).
Duration: 2 years
First/third-party: First-party on this domain
Google Analytics 4 is configured on this site using Google Consent Mode in Basic mode. The Google Analytics tag (gtag.js) is not loaded until you accept analytics cookies. Until you accept, no Google Analytics requests, no cookieless pings and no analytics cookies are sent or set — nothing is loaded or executed. When you accept, the Google tag loads using Measurement ID G-8YFZ3GE4TG, analytics_storage consent is granted, and the cookies above are set so Google can measure usage. IP addresses are anonymised (IP masking) at the point of collection by Google.
When enabled, Google Analytics collects standard, aggregated usage information such as: the pages you visit, how you arrived at the site, the type of device and browser you use, approximate (general) region derived from IP address (with IP masking), and the duration of your visit. Google Analytics does not identify you personally. The information is used by Stop Being You to understand and improve the website. You can read more about how Google uses data at Google’s “How Google uses information from sites that use our services” page.
Google is the analytics provider. You can read Google’s privacy policy and information about the technologies Google uses at policies.google.com/technologies/cookies and Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
On your first visit: the cookie banner appears with three options — Accept analytics, Reject analytics, and Cookie settings. Accept and Reject are equally easy to select; neither is given visual priority to push you towards accepting. There are no pre-ticked consent boxes, and simply continuing to browse is not treated as consent.
Change or withdraw your choice at any time: use the Cookie settings link in the website footer. This reopens the settings panel where you can turn analytics on or off and save your new choice. Withdrawing analytics consent is as easy as granting it — simply switch analytics off and save. When you withdraw consent, Google Analytics consent is immediately set back to denied, no further Google Analytics measurement data or cookieless pings are sent to Google, and any existing first-party Google Analytics cookies on this domain (including _ga and _ga_*) are deleted where the site is technically able to remove them. Google Analytics will not be activated again unless you explicitly grant analytics consent.
You can also clear any existing analytics cookies at any time using your browser’s settings.
Rejecting or withdrawing analytics cookies does not prevent you from using any part of this website. The website works fully whether or not you allow analytics cookies.
